Job Description

World Education, Inc., an International NGO working with disadvantaged communities and vulnerable populations, seeks highly motivated and qualified candidates for the following positions proposed for an upcoming 3-year project

(A) Project Director (Kathmandu based)

• Minimum of five years of experience in project management, supervision, administration, and implementation of cooperative agreement and/or contract requirements (including meeting deadlines, achieving targets, establishing and maintaining systems for managing project operations, and overseeing the preparation and submission of required reports to donor agencies).
• Experience establishing and maintaining systems for managing project operations.
• Proven success serving in a leadership role for a project addressing issues of child labor, forced labor or other labor issues relevant to the project being funded under this cooperative agreement.
• Maintains working relationships with all project stakeholders, and engages in coalition building and public-private partnership promotion.
• Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree reflecting expertise in areas relevant to this project, such as labor law, public policy, sociology, project management.
• Fluency in English with strong writing skills required.
• Candidates with prior experience working on US government funded projects will be an advantage.

(B)Monitoring & Evaluation Officer (Kathmandu based)

• Minimum of five years of professional experience in a scenic M&E position responsible for implementing M&E activities of international development projects.
• Proven success in designing, implementing and operating project M&E systems from project initiation to closeout stages.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in statistics, demographics, public policy, international development, economics, or related field plus an advanced certificate in M&E, statistics or economics preferred.
• Experience in strategic planning and performance measurement, including indicator selection, target setting, reporting, and developing M&E and/or performance monitoring plans.
• Ability to facilitate and serve as project liaison for externally-managed evaluations.
• Fluency in English with strong writing skills required.
• Candidates with prior experience working on US government funded projects will be an advantage.
